Every spring students taking Grade 11 IB Biology at Saint John High participate in a day of marine biology at the Huntsman. The students gather benthic specimens, plankton and oceanographic data from Passamaquoddy Bay while onboard our research vessel. In the lab the students get a close look at plankton using the microscopes, study the taxonomy of the marine invertebrates and conduct an experiment testing the effect of temperature on the feeding rate of barnacles.
