Field Courses at the Huntsman

The Huntsman Marine Science Centre is a not-for-profit facility located in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada, dedicated to education, research and applied science. Thousands of people come to campus each year to learn about the amazing animals and tides of the Bay of Fundy. With residences, food service, a research vessel, teaching labs and an aquarium on campus we are a one stop shop for all your field course and student travel needs.

The Education Department works with groups of all ages on individualized courses that last for one day, one week or longer. Whether looking for a biology field course linked to curriculum or a fun field trip like no other we have lots of exciting activities to offer.
 - collecting live specimens from the bay while aboard our research vessel
 - exploring the microscopic world of plankton
 - searching for animals on rocky and muddy shores
 - studying animal behaviour in the lab
 - gathering data on invasive species
 - uncovering the rich history and art of the region

Throughout the year we host a number of local schools and groups, as well as those from farther afield, such as Ontario, Quebec and Massachusetts. We develop programs for schools, travel companies and specialized groups such as 4H .

Want to offer your group or school this fun, exciting experience on the East Coast? Give us a call (506) 529-1200, send an email or visit our website for more information.  Also check out our blog post on Recruiting Students for a Field Course.
