Royal West Academy - Day 2

Yesterday the Royal West students had a busy day filled with lots of different activities, including a trip on our research vessel, the Fundy Spray, time in the lab to identify seaweeds and plankton, and a visit to the beach to gather data on intertidal zonation patterns.  I look forward to seeing the students present their zonation projects on Saturday!

Identifying seaweeds in the lab.

Heading out on the research vessel into Passamaquoddy Bay.

Plankton collected during the boat trip.

Having a look at the plankton sample using the microscopes.

Drawing a diatom found in the seawater sample.

Gathering data on zonation patterns in the intertidal zone.
