Ocean Discovery - HWSF

Today on campus we had students from Hazen White - St. Francis School participating in the Ocean Discovery Program.

To start the morning the students used their observation skills in the lab with live marine invertebrates, such as rock crabs, hermit crabs, sea urchins and sea cucumbers.  Then it was off to lunch around the touch tank and a look at Snorkel and Loki, our resident harbour seals.  The students really enjoyed interacting with the animals!  To finish the day we used microscopes to view preserved and live plankton.  Wow, the live zooplankton sure move quick!
